Josh has spent close to a decade in casting and representation, working with studios including Netflix, Disney, Apple and HBO. He was a talent agent, then a casting associate at McGregor Casting in Sydney. He could see how the networks held by casting offices shut out performers without the right contacts. Josh also watched the industry pay for a run of expensive single use platforms. He built Altai as one workspace for artists, agents, casting and clients.

Renee took a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance at QUT. She started out producing, including a stunt and circus show in a thousand seat big top at Dreamworld. Renee then ran Screenwise, a Sydney acting school, for fourteen years. Across ten of those she was also director of the talent agency Niche Management, negotiating contracts with Marvel, Netflix and Roadshow. She is now chief executive of Altai.
